Our nightmares have ended!
Season 8 episode 3 of Game of Thrones was back with a long night that would have lasted for generations like the one that came ages ago. This time it could have been worse. The Night King brought in the gathering night with the dead of winter and targeted the memory of the world, Bran Stark, threatening the existence of Human kind. If not for Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3 warriors.

Episode 03, The long night review results in the top 5 Long Night heroes which are:

  1. The Prince that was promised
  2. Lyanna Mormont
  3. The SLavesBraves of Astapor
  4. The Torch-bearer
  5. Queen and The Andal

5. Queen and The Andal

Daenerys Targaeryn (Khaleesi), though slipped from her dragon, did not standby when Jorah Mormont was fighting for her. She picked the available weapon and started slaying down the dead. She showed that she is not just the Dragon Queen or Mother of Dragons flying on the dragon-back, but a woman who won’t panic to fight her own battles.

Whereas Jorah stood true to his words and fought by her till he fell. He did go on his knees, fell weak but stood again to fight until Daenerys was safe.

Jon Snow or Aegon Targeryn and Daenerys the stomborn’s romance has always been a highlight since Game of thrones season 7 episode 7. This episode shifted focus back to the old pair, Khaleesi and Ser Jorah Mormont. Ser Jorah indeed was a loyal friend, servant and an intense one-sided lover.

4. The torch-bearer

Beric Dondarrion has always been fearless, the only difference this time was, he knew he couldn’t come back to life. To be called the torch-bearer, not only did he carry a lit sword but he rescued Arya, the sword in the darkness.

3. The SLavesBraves of Astapor

Many missed on noticing these fierce warriors. When every other knight and brave men were asked to fall back, the Unsullied looked at the blue eyes of death, yet stood true to their ground, guarding all. Grey-worm (Torgo Nudho) commanded his troop to hold their ground and the disciplined army fought the fearsome army of the dead.

2. Lyanna Mormont

I tried, but this lady was not someone I could experiment titles for, so I kept her name as it is, unlike the others. I look up to this character with high regards.
This little lady had won hearts long back, to break them all today. She proved her words and fought with the strength of 10 at her age. She had shown that she was an exceptional leader and today she surprised us with her bravery. A dead giant
crushed the little girl in his arms; only she succeeded in destroying it.

Throughout the seasons, she has had very few words to say, but every word has had more power and influence than any other character in the series. I cannot stop myself from quoting all her lines, so here it is:

We are not a large house, but we are a proud one, and every man from Bear Island fights with the strength of ten mainlanders

Sansa Stark: “I remember when you were born, my lady. You were named for my aunt Lyanna. It’s said she was a great beauty. I’m sure you will be too.”
Lyanna Mormont: “I doubt it. My mother wasn’t a great beauty, or any other kind of beauty. She was a great warrior, though. She died fighting for your brother Robb.”

Your son was butchered at the Red Wedding, Lord Manderly, but you refused the call. You swore allegiance to House Stark, Lord Glover, but in their hour of greatest need, you refused the call. And you, Lord Cerwyn, your father was skinned alive by Ramsay Bolton. Still, you refused the call. But House Mormont remembers. The North remembers! We know no king, but the King in the North whose name is Stark! I don’t care if he’s a bastard; Ned Stark’s blood runs through his veins. He’s my king, from this day, until his last day!

I don’t plan on knitting by the fire while men fight for me. I might be small, Lord Glover, and I might be a girl, but I am every bit as much a Northerner as you.

And I don’t need your permission to defend the North. We’ll begin training every man, woman, boy and girl on Bear Island

1. The Prince that was promised

A much loved and admired character. Arya has always topped my list not just because she has been brave and tactful, but because she is a rare combination of bravery, skills and brilliance. She has always achieved more than she is expected to.

Taking every bruise as a lesson to grow, from accidentally killing stable boy, to Walder Frey to the Night King, she has become one of the ruthless killers of Westeros. When everyone expected Aegon III Targaeryn, the prince that was promised to save Westeros from the eternal night, No-one emerged as the Hero. Arya Stark is the real young direwolf with a strong and focused mind.
